I Need A Show
I can just picture this ... the crowd is on edge, waiting for the band to explode into the next song, they're almost holding their breath - you know the feeling right before they burst into the crazy loud song that everybody in the room came to hear?
"They're ready. They're waiting for a signal from him. He's the drummer, the one who shows them when to stop and start, the one who decides how fast to go, the one to carries them along on his beat and in his van, the one who can make them erupt into sound with one nod of his head. He nods."
I just finished the book. Ya gotta read it, Ang. Some of it's bad, but overall, it great. The Exes, By Pagan Kennedy. Wow, I need to go to a show. I need to be in a band. But, alas, I am here in VA, bored, looking out the window at the inch of snow that has all these sissy Southerns scared to even go outside, let alone drive their cars. Well, all I wanted to do was post that quote, so I'm done.
