**SNOW DAY**

** SNOW DAY ALERT ***
Yippee!! No class or convo today!! This is the first snow day at Liberty University, the dumb place that will not cancel class for anything. But, alas, we lucked out today. (Sorry, I just said alas). The weirded thing about it is, it's not that bad outside. Virginia people are such sissies, because they've never even seen a real snow storm, let alone been in one. One good thing about Ohio: you know what real snow is and aren't a sissy about it. So, I actually stayed up and watched ALL of the Oscars, a feat not many people can claim. Stupid Million Dollar Baby. When in the world is Leonardo DiCaprio going to win a stinkin' Oscar? All girly-girl fan-clubbing aside, he is oneof the best actors (if not the best) out there today and deserves that award more than half the people who won one.... Ok, that's enuf ranting for one day, especially on the topic of Leonardo DiCaprio

Moms

Origen (c. 185 - c. 254)
"When Origen's father was beheaded during an intense persecution of Christians, 17-year-old Origen was ready to die as a martyr, too. But his mother hid his clothes so he couldn't leave the house. Thus, she saved the life of a teenager who would become the most respected Bible scholar of his day."
I thought that was too funny! Moms ... gotta love 'em.

National Sweater Day

Today was National Sweater Day. I know that thanks to some random guy I heard talking as he walked past our table at lunch yesterday. I hope you all wore your sweaters. I did. And Sleeve Tattoos did too, though I highly doubt he knew about today's oh-so-important holiday.
I am still immensely sad that Angela and Bethany are gone. (Hey - thanks for the message on my screensaver!!!!) It is insane how much life here at Liberty improves w/ just the presence of 2 friends. Curiouser and curiouser. But now it is back to boredom and depression for me. Except for the fact that:
- I am going home in 16 days
- I am going to see Bryan Nance tomarrow and *hopefully* talk to him
- We are going to see Julian in 17 days at the *Newport*
- We made French pancakes w/ strawberries and whipped cream tonite
Soundtrack: Wow, can you believe it? I'm not listening to anything. I was just listening to Chain Me Free by The Matches though.

And Depression Sets In

Ang and Bethany left today at precisely 3:40. I am beyond sad, depressed, down-and-out, etc. I hate this place. It is so lonely and boring and sad. Most of all, lonely. 17 days. Spring Break. Home. We had such a fun time. It just went too fast, and now I am very, very blue. This is horrible. I would kill to go home. It sucks, cuz they don't wanna go home and they get to. I want to more than anything and I have to stay here. "I caught you a delicious bass." We finally watched Napoleon Dynamite and have been quoting it ever since. It's quite entertaining. "Grosssss." That is what Liberty is.

Fun in Lynchburg!?!?

I am not letting Ang and Bethany go home. We have had so much fun - who thought I could enjoy myself for a whole weekend in Lynchburg? I swear, all these fun(ny) things happen as soon as they come. When I am here by myself, nothing happens. So, here is a ... list!

Fun:
Emo day yesterday
Taking artsy pictures of ourselves
Going to the mall
Writing poetry at The Drowsy Poet
Thos great guys w/ big spikey hair
Seeing Bryan Nance in a sweatsuit at Goodwill
Not-so-Fun:
Kicking myself all day for not talking to him - when he talked to us

I will never get over how dumb I am. There is he, talking to us, and I'm just standing there, trying on big dumb sunglasses, at a loss for words. But, being emo is more fun than I'd expected. It makes you very confident and there are, like, no emo people in here, so you feel very unique too. Anyways, they aren't allowed to go home. But my only comfort is that Spring Break is in 18 days. HOME.

YAY!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angela and Bethany will be here in approx. 1 hour!! Finally! I am soooo stoked! If I can't go home, home may-as-well come to me. This is great. We are gonna have a stinkin' blast. More updates to come...

Happy Black Hearts Day!

No, I am not that depressed. It was actually very pretty, walking around campus today, seeing everyone (and I include guys in this ... only at Liberty do you see multiple straight - or so they say - guys in pink shirts and purple ties) in red or pink. Not so pretty was the disgusting sight of everyone carrying around big packages, bouquets of flowers and stuffed teddy bears. Ok, so I had a package too, but mine was from my mom....
Josh: "I have a Valentine. My mom bought me The Village. My mom always buys me and Patrick horror movies for Valentines Day because she says blood is the color of love."
Yeah, but my mom is not twisted like Josh Dies' - whoa, Dies ... I think having that last name makes you a little kooky.
Oh, good ol' Matty T. Here is something funny from their tour journal last week:
"Mr. Ribbons The Magic Monkey:"Hey kids! Wanna see a magic trick?!
1,273 Kids:"Yeah!!!!"
One Small Voice In The Background:"no?"
Mr. Ribbons The Magic Monkey:"Ohh kay then! Prepare to be amazed as I deplete Matthew Thiessen's immune system to almost nothing in a matter of just HOURS!!!!!"
1,274 Kids:"YAY!!!!"
And that's how it happened. For real. I was just minding my own business, playing in freezing cold venue after freezing cold venue, and then Mr. Ribbons did that terrible deed."
I thought it was funny.
Attention All! I might actually have visitors this weekend!! Ang and Bethany are probably coming down!! AHH!!!

Raw Rock Kills

Good morning - yeah, I know it's 2 o'clock but I just got up. Last nite was great. Laura and I went to Greensboro to see Showbread (See? This entry is red and black!) SOOO fun. They put on a great show - other bands, not so much. But who cares about them anyways. Here is how I will describe them: "The image you certainly won’t forget: seven equally energetic bodies swarming the stage like a multitude of angry bees, on the prowl to win over their unsuspecting prey - the audience. There are guitars propelling, hips shaking, and a key-tar…yes, we said 'key-tar' to reel them in. Their signature red and black ensembles only add to their dynamic show." (Thanks, Tooth and Nail...) No joke. That is exactly how it was. (Ok, so they left out the fake blood...) And here is the best part: Josh, on stage and only on stage, reminds me of Julian. The moves, the dancing, the playing with his hair, even The Hand!!! AHHH!!! Ang, you MUST see them. The only disappointment of the night was that Josh (darn, I still wanna call him Ivory) in real life looks nothing like he does in the video. He is short, has terrible teeth and no eyemakeup. None. And that is the part that made him oh-so-stinkin' cool. But his personality makes up for it. He's great. Again, Angela, you'd love him. Very funny, very easy to talk to and so down to earth. I knew someone that great looking was too good to be true :). So then, we went to Steak 'n' Shake (yay!) and they came too!! I love that place, I have great luck there. They sat next to us, but Josh was there for like 10 seconds, then he and 2 other guys left. So that was sad. So, we had fun, got back at 4 a.m. and broke alotta Liberty rules. It was great.

Heartache

Who you are is amazing
A precious soul so beautifully made
It hurts to see your life fading
But Heaven knows every tear you've cried
And I want you to know
I'll never let you go
Oh my heart aches for you
My heart breaks for you
My heart bleeds for you

Anyways, I did more shopping for my ultracool red and black room. I must admit, that if you saw it, you would be jealous.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD! I wish I was home :(. Being here is just too sad. Even though today was a gorgeous sunny and 55. That is miracle weather for February!
Ya know, blogger should have a place to put in what you are listening to as you write. So I'll make my own.

Walking Dooown-town

"Drawn by imaginary lines connecting radiant points of light ... From the streets that we've crossed a thousand times before ... We were walkin' downtown, yeah-ah, my favorite part of downtown..."
How I wish it was a warm summer night, like it is in this music video. And I wish those little sparkly lights were falling from the sky. I love that song (and video). It gives me a happy good feeling.

Money for Me!

Dadadadum!! I'm so stoked! Not only have I been singing the new Anberlin album all morning (I had a great walk to convo, all by myself, lookin' mighty bandy today, just kinda humming with a dumb grin on my face - it's warm and I only had to wear my *hoodie*), I have my own room -which looks awesome and I'm in a good mood for no reason today, BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE, I just found out I have $160 credit in my Liberty account so they put in on my debit card!!! Woo hoo!! Money for Crystal! I am going thrifting to get some cool stuff for my new (well, not really) room!

In Stores February 1...

Today is a beautiful day! NUMERO UNO: Anberlin's new album came out today!! AHH!! It is fabulous! (I broke my own rule: I bought it at Wal Mart ... I tried to support my local record store, but they didn't have it. Not my fault.) The lyrics are not as deep-like and confusing as the last album, which is sad. But it is wonderful and, as of yet - and I highly doubt I will, I find no fault in it. Here is one great, confusing, wonderful, Anberlinesque line to make your mouth water for the album:
I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands
I thought you said forever
Over and over
A sleepless night becomes
Bitter oblivion
These thoughts run through my head
Over and over
Complaints of violins become my only friends
Number two: The new song up on Pure Volume for TAI this week is Down and Out, otherwise known as "I don't ever wanna see you again!" AHH!!! I adore it and I know Angela does! Go listen now and fall in love: http://www.purevolume.com/theacademyis Those first few chords and "never down and out" are great, because I remember them from the show (I was singing that one line for like a week!)
Number three: My roomate moved over into Ali's room (she wants bunk beds and Ali has a bigger room, so yours truly HAS HER OWN ROOM!!! AHH!!! Now that, my friends, is cause for celebration.
Number four, well not really. I watched Fatal Attraction today, mostly because they talked about it in Sleepless in Seattle and I wanted to see it. VERY scary. Well, at least it was for me, the sissy. Well, my cookies are done and I'm going to eat them! Yummy!
