!The Pool Guys Are Here!

Finally! YAY!!
Everyday (since it's been warm for like a month now) I pass the pool, searching in vain for the pool guys. Since the pool is dirty, they are the obvious prerequisite to the opening of the pool.
And today they're here!!
In a -hopefully- matter of days, I will begin my daily trips to the pool! Hurray!

Holy Smokes!

This weekend was insane! This whole past week was insane! This town is insane!
And I love every minute of the insanity.
I went out every night last week. And heck, I'm starting off right this week too! Oh blah di oh blah da! I love it!
Angela is to join me in just about one month! ::Napoleon Dynamite voice:: Yesssss!
Crystal's Fun Fact of the Day: Everyone knows how impossible it is to catch scene guys. They are like their own little clan. BUT, my friends, I have conquered it!

I am at school.

I always feel cool writing emails or posting blogs from school. I have no clue why and I am probably the only person in the world who feels this way. I really have nothing to say except it is 8:52 am and I should not be awake. But I am, and probably only because I went to sleep (not bed, sleep) at 9 pm last night. I realized, in the car, on the way to that class, that I had a test in public relations today. Oops. I think that I did relatively well for studying only in the brief, nervous moments before she passed out the test.
Brief: that reminds me of "Dear Jesus, in these brief moments, help us. Amen."
I have a grueling 2 1/2 hours of samurai classes and then1 hour of not-so-grueling Spanish ahead of me, neither of which I am happy about. The weather is gorgeous - it's already in the 70's - and I would love to crawl back in bed, which is right underneath the open, breezy window. Ahhh, heaven ...
Is it bad that I like - and look forward to - sleeping that much?
But, I'm in a good mood anyways because I am wearing one of my mod outfits today: black tank top, black and white striped miniskirt, gogo boots and big white sunglasses. If you aren't in a good mood because of that, you are ... boring and stuck in the wrong decade (and by that, I mean the current one).

Home Away From Home

Well, I'm home from being home. An all-together too short weekend back in good ol' Delawanda ends me with alone in my little apartment "riding on" with Mick Jagger and friends, after spending the afternoon with Eric Burdon. What cool cats. Eric knew everyone and was in all the hot spots back in the day - surprisingly cool for a pinch-your-cheeks little boy. Here are some of the "new" words that we are going to revive:
cat
bird
fab*
mod*
*= we have already suceeded
baby (as used in "Paul Baby)
duckie
bread
threads
pad

It's Hump Day!

Ahh, I am going home the day after tomorrow. Nice as it will be, I'm already looking forward to coming back here. I just love this town. There is something calmly addictive about it. I love it. It's wild, but homey. It's familiar, but strange.
See, the weekend at home is the best. Not too long, so you leave saying "Oh, that was so nice" not "Get me outta heeeeeeeeeeere!" (like I did at Christmas break).
There is only a month and a half till The Summer of ... well, it can't be The Summer of Crystal again ;) ... Something begins. And I cannot wait. Now, to find a job ... Ugh.
Ok, side/end note: Am I the only one who finds it sick and twisted to be engaged to your second cousin?!?! These people were on Dr. Phil today and he was giving it the thumbs-up! I was ashamed of him for being so gross. Well, he is southern, after all, and we all know how they are.

Ahhh, the 90's

So, I was reading this thing online called "You Know You're a 90's Kid If..." and it was a gas! There are so many things I've forgotten to remember. Here are the best - I'm sure you'll get a kick out of them too, cuz you've probably forgotten them too...
* You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school
* "I've fallen and I can't get up"
* Two words... Trapper Keeper
* You played and or collected "Pogs"
* You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere
* Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!
* All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand
* You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out
* You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
* Double Dare and Family Double Dare
* It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends
Now, wasn't that more fun than having to watch 2 weeks worth of 5-day a week, 1 hour episodes of "I Love The 90's"?

"Is that a bandstand?"

"That looks like a bandstand." After our fruitless efforts to find the mysterious "bandstand", we gave up hopes of crashing it's elusive party and just took pictures around Centennial Park. And here are some of the results.
