The Post-Show Report
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Is all I can say about last nite!!! I'm gonna divide it into parts for you (by which I mean Angela, because, really, who else reads this? If there is anyone else, you better leave a comment so I can get happy that someone else is reading this GREAT story).
The outift: Black halter top, with cool straps with silver studs. Jeans. Short black, lacy layered skirt over top. Bandy studded belt hanging low. Bandy bracelets. Cool new red hair. Cool makeup.
Pre-Show: We wait outside in the cold for the doors to open. The mean, evil, retarded girl wouldn't let us in cuz only my name and not my guest (I won 2 tickets) was on the list. So, I'm like "I'll call Adam" (like I know him...haha). So I call Adam, their online promo guy and he's like "Ok, I'll call Bill". So, after a long time of waiting (and worrying) their merch guy comes out and gets us in, much to the chagrin of the evil girl. We get in and Adam calls back and says Adam from The Academy Is coming out to let us in. But we are already in. :( Too bad. But hey, someone cool still let us in.
The Show: The Academy Is plays first. Julian is SO beautiful! That is the only word to describe him. Not hot. Nothing. Nothing but absolutely beautiful. He does the moves and they are FAB! He's wearing a striped red tight shirt, low rise hip hugger jeans - showin' a little midriff there..., a belt and NO SHOES!!!!!!!! (See title of my last post...) They sing all new songs, except for "The Author". They are so much better live and their new songs are so much better than the ones on their EP. Julian was a stunning sight to behold. AHHH!!! There are no words to decribe him! When I get my pics back, I'll put them up, so you all can understand his beauty. But then again, nobody seems to except Ang and I... maybe we are just crazy. Or maybe you are all just blind. Julian keeps blowing kisses into the audience during songs. It was so frickin' adorable. I LOVE HIM!!!!
The Other Shows: The other bands were not that good, but Hidden In Plain View was ok. Midtown played like an hour and they were crappy. And Matchbook Romance wasn't that great either. Julian just hung back by his table the whole time.
In Between Shows: Some girl comes up to me and is like "Hey I just wanted to tell you that I love your look!" Isn't that cool? Later, we go to sit down, cuz they are taking a long time to do set change. This great bandy guy just randomly comes over and sits down with us and we all start to chat. He has long, flippy-outty hair, lip ring, bar between his eyes, emo-ish look with a sweater with a collared shirt underneath and he's very tall. His name is Brandon and he has the most hickish accent!! He drove 4 1/2 hrs. to see MR and was turning back around and going home right after it. Great, huh? So we are going to chat on IM now. I made a bandy friend!! After he leaves, (we are sitting kinda buy Julian and the merch table, but not really) we are sitting there just chatting and Julian and some bandmates are chatting too. One of the guys throws his bottled water and it kinda rolls over and hits my leg. He doesn't come get it or anything. They just start to walk away, backstage (which was just behind a curtain. It was funny. Quite ghetto.). Julian kinda looks over his shoulder at us as they leave.
Post Show Julian: We head right over to their merch table, cuz there is like nobody over there. Julian is on one end talking to some people and I'm like in the middle of the table, looking at their stuff. Julian then turns around and looks right at me. He gives me this great, undescribable look. It was like a happy jokey little puppy face. That is the only way I can think to describe it and it's not even good. He looked...I don't even know. (I thought, at first, he was going to say "Hey! I remember you." That's the kind of happy look it was.) Then he makes a bee-line and comes right over to me!!!!! AHHHH!!! We do the usual introductions with handshakes and him leaning right up in your ear when he talks, cuz it's loud. We talk about how I love his style and how I want his jeans. He didn't know where he got them, but they were just Levi's (at this point he is still leaning in my ear to talk...he eventually stops. I think cuz it stopped being loud.) Then I'm like Can I ask why in the world you guys are playing in Lynchburg? He said he didn't know, it was just a stop on the tour. Then - here comes a great part - he says, as he gives me this great look and smile, "But I'm glad we did." I'm glad you did too, I say. It was a good show, he says. Yeah it was (that was me again). Oh he gave Heidi a weird handshake and I was like "hey I wanna do it too" So he makes up this handshake thing and kinda laughs "I just made that up". Also, I say something about seeing them in Ohio last month and he is like what?? I say that's where I live, I just go to school here. So then I ask to get a picture w/ him, just as the house lights come up, and I think it will be cute. He is making a kissey face, Heidi said!! AHH!!! I wish I'd known, I wouldn't made a cool face too!! He keeps touching my arm as we talk. He was just simply adorable. Then we say bye.
Post Show Adam (and other guys whose names I forget): So, then I go over to the puffy curly haired guy, Adam to ask him to sign my cd. I just say "Hey, sorry to bug you, but could you sign this?" And he's like "You're not bugging me, but yeah." Julian is talking to this other girl and they are kinda next to us. They are kinda listening to me, I guess, cuz the girl says to him "Oh, she is so nice. I'm just like 'Hey. Sign this.'" Julian kinda nods and agrees. SOMEONE WAS TALKING ABOUT ME TO JULIAN!! AHH!! Adam, who I think looks much more like a Jeff, signs the cd, with a heart by his name. Then on the paper cover thing, he writes I (heart) U. AHH!! I forget if we talk then, but I think we do. Then we go over to their other guitar player with a hat on. He signs my cd, and we do the handshake/ask name thing. As he's signing this other guy comes up and is like "Hey! I'm in the band. Can I sign it too?" So he "signs" (he wrote The Butcher Bishop ... what?? I don't even know if he was really in the band) and Adam comes over and takes the sharpie out of his hand and takes my cd from Hat Guy and draws a big red heart and writes "Me and You" in it. AHH!! He asks what my last name is, after I tell Hat Guy my name, and is like "Oh you were the winner!" He's like Have you ever even heard of us? Of course, I say, I saw you in Columbus last month. "Oh, was that the one where we were all up on stage?" Yeah, it was. "Oh man, I got a bloody nose up there. The drummer from the PWT's gave me a bloody nose." (It was weird to hear someone else talk about that show... and especially about the PWT's) So then he's like "You can have anything you want from our merch....except the hoodie and the trucker hat...haha" Really??? Yeah. So we debate, Adam, me and the merch guy about which one to get. The black one is new, the merch guy says. That's the one I wanted anyways. Should I get it? Yeah, it will look good on you, says Adam. So I get a kids medium, so it fits. Adam says I can try it on. That looks good on you. So I get it. For *free*. One of the other guys puts some water in his (big) hair and they start screwin' around, so we kinda start to leave, but he comes back. Somehow, we are then talking about how they should play in VA again and he's like we are in January. Do you know when, I say, cuz I'm here for half of it and home for the other half. "I don't know. All I know it that's the month I was born." "Me too!!!! What day?" "The 8th" "Oh, I'm the 4th. I beat you." He kinda screws his face up all funny like. We start to leave and kinda call out Nice meeting you. See ya later. And then we head outside, with a huge unremovable grin on my face, which is still there as we speak. Oh and Adam gave us lots of hugs, including one as we say bye. We passed Julian as we were leaving and I wanted to say bye or something, but I didn't want to be one of those girls that is like "Bye William!!" all annoying like. So I didn't say anything.
Now: Well, I think that is it. I'm sure there is more little things that I have forgotten though. I am giddy happy and will be replaying last night in my mind for at least a week. This has been Crystal reporting live from Lynchburg, Virginia.
