(Non) & Recommendation

(Non)Recommendation
Ok, never see Nicole Kidman's movie Birth. Not only was it long, boring and not suspensful like they said, they never explained what happened and it was just dumb. Not to mention gross. (I mean, he was 10)
Recommendation
But you should go to the website www.justiceforkurt.com, which is super-interesting and full of articles, sound clips, videos, photos/evidence about Kurt Cobain and his suspected murder. I am definetely leaning towards murder, rather than suicide. Go see the timeline (and watch the Unsolved Mysteries clip). I think it will sway your opinion in that direction, too. I am still not 100% convinced though. But... oh, go read it for yourself and then let me know your thoughts.

Because.

You should love me because I am strong enough to escape the metal, gripping teeth of the Falwell-anator.
You should love me because I am really funny.
And because I have lots of Hand.
I buy candles that smell like bubble gum.
Almost every sound on my computer is personalized.
I have a stalker.
I go to restaurants just to see certain waiters.
I spend more on seeing people I don't know (aka shows) than all other things combined.
In past years, I have not liked a single guy that I have not been in denial of.
I have black flowers in my room.
I get obsessed with things extremely easily.
There are two Crystal's: Home Crystal and School Crystal
Few have the privilege of seeing Home Crystal, who, I hear, is hilarious, but totally weird.
You guarantee you that you wouldn't recognize me w/o makeup, hair up and with my glasses on.
I love people who everyone else thinks are weird.
I eat spaghetti almost every day.
I am still holding a grudge against Ryan Dennis (from the 8th grade) who told me I was ugly.
I love the Arts Festival downtown.
People have stopped telling me I should be a model.
I've never liked going to the fair with my family.
I automatically assume people don't like me.
I watch "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" only to laugh at the retarded kid.
Hmm, that was fun. Angela, you had a nice idea. It's relaxing to be completely self-absorbed for a few minutes.

Rant #4

This is a topic that Angela and I have completely run into the ground, but I was thinking about it as I ate dinner tonite.
Rant #4: Why Band Guys Like Me (Us), But Regular Ones Don't
Please tell me why this is true. We have analyzed, over-talked-about, debated over this topic for months. Probably years. Here are the only conclusions I can come up with:
* We are just too cool for all the losers that we know from school, church, whereever and only the band guys (who are also cool) recognize our coolness and like us.
* Well, actually that is the only conclusion we can come up with.
* Also, the only time I put effort into actually looking cool is for shows. So these guys are seeing me at my absolute best and never have to see me on an off-day.
* And, somehow when we get around bands, we get unexplainably quirky, so we look like really funny people.
* And all the other girls around them are drooling, saying stupid things like "Can you sign my shoe?" or "Remember me from the Cleveland show that was like 3 years ago?" or "Guess what? My cousin's stepsister's boyfriend's landlord's aunt is your 1/2 grandpa's niece! How cool is it that we're connected?" or "Here's my number, why don't you give me a call?" and giving them only a 2-inch radius of personal space. So surrounded by them, we look completely normal and totally awesome.
So, this concludes Rant #4. Except for how I am only now even further convinced that I will marry a band guy. Normal guys are just so boring. I can't even like them anymore. The last time I liked just an average guy was in the 9th grade. So, when you call my cell in 10 years, I can bet ya my life that I'll be riding in an unmarked white van or standing behind a merch table in a dark smoky club. (See? I will not be one of those wives who just comes on tour to take up space and follow him around. I plan on being tour manager or head of merch) So please call me in 10 years, so when we stop in your town, I can put you on the guest list and you can get in to the show for free and we can hang out!

A Proverb Of Angela

"Well, if I'm not here, then I'm leaving, 'cause I'm not gonna stay here if I'm not even here."
That's the best line, but here is the rest, cause it's funny too:
Do you ever wonder if you're really there?
Sometimes I walk down the hallways at school and wonder if I'm actually there. People don't talk to me, look me in the eye, or even look at me, period. If their reaction and my sense of feeling translate to anything, I might not even be there. And I think, "Well, if I'm not here, then I'm leaving, 'cause I'm not gonna stay here if I'm not even here."

Heeheehee!

::grinning from ear to ear::

I AM COMING HOME A DAY EARLY!!!!!! AHHHH!!!! I can take my history final on Monday, so now I will officially be home in the sensational state of Ohio by 8 pm Tuesday, May 10.
Who agrees with me (and Angela) that the following things still kick ___ :
Furbies

Wow, I was looking in the thesaurus for another word for wonderful and it says ... cat's pajamas? What? How are you supposed to say that? "That was a great cake! It was cat's pajamas!"

My Love/Hate Relationship

Media of all types serves but one purpose: to help Average Joe's (and Jane's) escape their mind-dullingly boring realities for a short amount of time.
It is created by exciting, talented, creative people with lives and only makes A.J. (Average Joe/Jane) realize how much he wants a life.
When A.J. is busy - going out, going on dates, seeing shows, experiencing life for himself - does he go to a dark theatre to watch a 2 hour film of other people's lives? No.
When A.J. gets some awesomely cool, bandy, wild, fun, stay-out-all-night, road trip friends, does he make himself a slave to the 1/2 hour installment of someone else's life every Wednesday night at 8? No.
But until A.J. gets a life, the only thing that gets him through the dulldrums of daily life are these escapes from reality.
Luckily, this A.J. is getting a life in 16 days.

BORED.

Following Angela's post on "boring", I am listening to some weird oldie on the radio - that should never have survived this far into the future -, talking to someone that I don't really know on AIM and posting a blog about absolutely nothing. The only things keeping me alive is knowing a) I'll be home and away from Liberty for all eternity in a mere 17 days b) I'll see Julian in 19 days [AHHHH!] and c) The impending summer will be the best ever.
I dyed my hair really super dark brown - it looks black right now - and in a couple weeks, I'm tipping the ends bright red. I'm super stoked about that, I want to do it now, but it has too look ultra good and vibrant when I see Julian, so I must wait. :(
Is it sad that Angela and I both base our hair color choices around going to shows and who will see us there? "Yes," you say. But when you think about it, it's smart. Who is going to see us when we're sitting at home or at school? No one cool. Who will see us when we are at shows? All the bandy people in a 50 mile radius (who are all at the show) and the bands. Now, who would you rather impress? I thought so.

I love The Network!

Yesterday was a day well-rounded in pop culture for me:
* Watched Return of the Jedi (part 3 in my Pre-Episode-3 Star Wars Extravaganza)
* Listened to AFI
* Listened to Velvet Revolver
* Listened to Motley Crue
(and I'm not talkin one song, I'm talkin whole albums)
* Watched Seinfelds I've ::gasp:: never seen
It was fun. Everyone should have a Pop Culture Appreciation Day once in a while. I found 3 bands I never knew I liked!

Skintight

I found this great (not-so) new song called Skintight, by some punk girl band called The Donnas. It is all about how she loves this guy who wears skintight jeans! Yay for guys in girls jeans! And for The Network, where I can listen to tons of music w/o spending a penny! Already just today I listened to
* The Rolling Stones [Forty Licks, their 2 disc greatest hits thing - yes, I listened to them ALL]
* The Cure [which I wasn't all that impressed with]
* Jimmy Eat World [just to see why I always hear about them. I like a couple of them. And Yeah, they are kinda reminescent of the T's.]
* Punk Stars [a collection of never-heard-of-em punk bands :)]
* The Beatles [some of the 1st disc of the Anthology!]
* And some Josh Groban for relaxation
Also, I went to Washington DC yesterday. Isn't that strange, that I just went to DC for the day? It was so fun though! Me and Laura were so touristy and took pictures of everything! It was great fun. I'll put some up when I get them back.

Dance Parties

I just threw a dance party in my room! I'm sorry you missed it. It was fun. I'm sure you woulda laughed if you were here though, seeing me jumping around, singing along to blaring music and pretending that I am a killer dancer.
Isn't it funny that as much as we talking about playing Dance Party, we've only actually played once, and I think it was probably only Stephanie Cora who danced? Anyways, that's besides the point.
Everyone should throw themselves dance parties when they are bored. It makes you un-bored. At least for a little while. And you get a good laugh.

Lodi!

There was this thing in the 1400's called the Peace of Lodi!!! Angela, how cool is that? What if there was a Lord of Lodi?! That would be so great.

Shows = Love

So last nite, at the last second, I decided to go (by myself) to the WorldWide/Diverse City Tour. Shows by yourself = Not so great, but not as bad as I'd expected.
Hawk Nelson
Kutless
Toby Mac
Audio Adrenaline
Quite a fun lineup and definetly a FUN show. So, if the tour is making a stop in your area, I would say GO. I'm not a big fan of huge shows (like this one, there were literally thousands of people there), but I had a blast anyways. The only people that really counted though are the people who are down front jumping around, so in that respect, it wasn't that huge of a show!
After show, not so good. One word : Line. I hate The Autograph Line. The Mill is much better (if you're not me or Angela, The Mill is when they just "mill" around their table and you can talk to whoever you want for as long as you want). So, The Line sucks, but here is what didn't suck about the line: How absolutely ADORABLE Brio is and how good Jonathon looks with his new haircut. Oh and I wish you coulda seen the Beauty: by that I mean the rack holding all the guitars for all the bands. There were like 20 of them. I hope I wasn't drooling.
I really really really want to go to the Everything Is Burning Tour.

Why Me??

I hate drama. We all know that. And now my nerves are shot. Listen to the latest installment of Psycho-Sideburns Girl (?) vs. Normal Crystal:
Her "lawyer" called me today. Besides being SO unprofessional and saying umm a lot, he didn't even tell me where he was from, like saying Smith and Associates, or whatever. He just said "I'm an attorney from Richmond." And get this: His name is Elwood Sanders. Elwood. Does she think I haven't seen Legally Blonde? Elle Woods? Yeah, I'm not that dumb, Psycho. There are various other reasons why we ALL believe that she has no lawyer. Not to mention, he's not in the phone book.
Does she honestly think I am that stupid? She obviously doesn't know me. I have been honest, nice and tried harder than heck to work this out and it hasn't gotten me anywhere. But I just LOVE the oh-so-true-never-fails saying of
What goes around, comes around!

Does Anyone...

Care about the Middle Ages??? If you do, let me know, and tell my WHY I should care and WHY I should lose any more hours of precious sleep studying them. The only thing fun about them is that there was a Bishop of Hippo.

Don't You Want Us To Psychoanalyze You?

CrystalLite176: we should be pyschoanalyzers of people
CrystalLite176: we ROCK at it
Closer To Regret: haha, Yeah we do, I must admit.
Closer To Regret: ;-)
CrystalLite176: i'm serious! have you ever met anyone even HALF as good at it as us???
Closer To Regret: Nope, no one else even tries usually.
CrystalLite176: oh. i guess so
Closer To Regret: lol
Closer To Regret: I mean, we're that much more genius-y to even THINK to analyze people.
Closer To Regret: And we usually nail it every time.
CrystalLite176: I KNOW! we are like...another breed. we are... PHILOSOPHERS!! they think of things that other people don't even think to think of
Closer To Regret: YES!

The Joys of College

Here we are, another beautiful day in the exciting metropolis of Lynchburg, Virginia. Cold, cloudy and rainy. It just doesn't get any better than sitting in your room on a Friday night, because there is nothing to do!
My decision of the day is to revert to all guy friends. I hate girls (except my friends that I like) and they annoy the heck out of me. Guys are cooler. Guys are more laid back. Guys aren't as fake and stupid. Guys have better style (well, bandy guys that is, and they're the only ones I want to be friends with anyways). Guys don't complain about every little, tiny, stinking thing.
~Can you tell I am FED UP with living with tons of girls?~
