Today's rant topic is : Instant Messanging

Is IM not the lamest form of human communication? I am thoroughly convinced of it. Of course, it is so handy to talk to people who live far away, since long distance is so expensive. Here are my laments towards IM.

*Numero Uno: People who have no guts in real life, suddenly have the nerve to say anything online. For heaven's sake, if you can't say it face to face, please, please, please don't say it over IM.

*Numero Dos: You can waste hours, literally, talking about absolutely nothing. If you are on the phone and you run out of things to say, you end the conversation and hang up. But on IM, nope, you just keep on talking. So essentially, you never have a real conversation about anything online.

*Numero Tres: You can't derive the real meaning from anything anyone says, cuz you can't hear the way they say it or see their facial expression.

*Numero Cuatro: Practically everyone has free nights and weekends on their cell, so just use them!

*Numero Cinco: Any social skills one may have, are stuffed into a jar and slowly disintegrate cuz even a loser can sound half way cool on IM.

Ok, ok, I know there are good things about IM too, but I am unhappy with it even though I love it. It is way too addicting and way to easy to hide behind.
